Wordless Wednesday – Lucian’s Holiday Program

There is nothing quite like experiencing your first holiday program with your child. Last year Lucian’s Pre-k class didn’t participate in the school’s program (not sure why) so this year was our first.  I couldn’t believe just how packed the gym got but it was worth it to hear Lucian and his class sing for a whopping two minutes.  Joe and Warren got stuck way in the back with no seats but I was able to sneak up after the third grade class performed and some people left.

If you haven’t yet picked him out, Lucian is in the very back row and looks almost like he is blowing me a kiss. (He isn’t of course but I like to think he is anyway.)

Lucian is definitely a ham who generally enjoys attention but for many years wasn’t a big fan of singing, especially to other people. So it was still a bit surprising to see him up there belting it out like he hadn’t a care in the world. And this mama was certainly proud!

Afterwards I stopped by his class to congratulate him on such a great performance and to take his picture but being his usual silly self, this is what I got.

I tried once more and captured this goofy grin. I think he was pretty proud of himself too!

  1. Oh gosh, you bring back so many memories…from having to sneak up front to see better, to that oh so proud feeling that this is MY child singing. Peeking your head above the crowd so that hopefully they can see you, down to trying to capture that perfect photo. ENJOY these moments, as sadly, they pass ever so quickly!
