Wordless Wednesday – My Oops with Staub Cookware

Recently I’ll admit I’ve become a bit obsessed with beautiful kitchen products and textiles. Anything that I can use for my baking blog to add more interest and color to my photography at a reasonable price is sure to catch my eye. I love stalking the kitchen sections of Kohl’s, Target and TJ Maxx for new finds. But lately I’ve been craving something bright and ceramic. Most of the dutch ovens are out my price range but I found this  Staub Ceramic Try Me Set – Cherryand thought it would be the prefect way to get a few different pieces. It was normally $99.99 but I paid $49.99 for it and felt it was worth it for a splurge. (I had a gift certificate to use anyway.)

And I got this yesterday. Isn’t the box gorgeous?

And isn’t this cherry ceramic cookware gorgeous? What! Wait a minute….

These things are tiny! So tiny that I don’t have a clue what I’m going to even bake into the “baker” and “pie plate”.  While I’m certain I’ll be able to use them for photography props, I’m not all that certain how much cooking I’ll actually be able to do with them.  Not what I had in mind but sometimes you just have to roll with it.

They remind me of something for the play kitchen for my boys. At least they are beautiful, right?

  1. They are SO cute!! I’ll admit that they’re obviously too small for certain things, but I’m sure your creative mind will come up with something good. I’m a lover of all things Le Creuset though- they have minis that are adorable too!! 🙂

  2. Ok, that’s absolutely hysterical. Honestly, I’d take it back. Then again, I’m not a huge cook/baker and it might make for some amusing posts. Might force you to get super creative!

  3. Wow, you should totally write a review on Amazon for those. There’s nothing in their description of what size they are. They are beautiful tho’. 😉

  4. OMG that is so funny! Although probably not at the time. 🙂

I did that with a piece of luggage a few years ago on some deal site. It was called the XL bag and it was a steal!!

When I got it, it could barely fit a pair of tennis shoes. But it sure was cheap.

  5. They are cute, but I would probably return them and get one big piece. Oh well you could always make Flan.

  6. I guess when they say “try me” they really mean only if you are on a strict diet and can only eat tiny tiny bites of food! Too funny.
    Thanks for the linky!

    1. Oh I’m a HUGE fan of fiestaware. My mom is a big obsessed and has a ton of it. I’m always buying pieces for her!

I want to wait until my kids are a bit older though before I replace our current dinnerware with it.

    1. They are cute for single serve. But trying to serve that to a family of four is tough with such varying depths/cooking times. 🙂 It would have been great to get four of a single size instead.

But yeah, I had NO IDEA they were that small. hehehehe

  7. OMG! They are so cute, too bad they aren’t sized for an adult. I love them though. You can make some mini-dishes for date nights!

  8. I love those! Since I’m cooking for just me now most days, those would be great for portion control 🙂
