Chasing Fireflies Halloween Costumes: Is That Darth Vader or My Son?

When searching for the perfect costume, Chasing Fireflies is a site that always manages to make me swoon. Their selection of costumes for the whole family is vast but more importantly, they carry high quality and very unique costumes you can’t find just anywhere. I can’t help but gaze wistfully at the vibrant colors and gorgeous fabrics. They really are rare and simply stunning. You’ll find plenty of coordinating costumes for multiple children and even their parents.

I’ll admit that I wish that Lucian wanted to be a octopus, sea dragon or king cobra. But this year he has had his eye on a single costume and couldn’t really be persuaded. And really, isn’t that the point of Halloween? Allowing your child to use their imagination and dress up in what they really want to be for a single day?

Yes, that is my six year old in his Darth Vader costume. (Notice he is using the force on you?)

When this arrived at our doorstep, courtesy of Chasing Fireflies, Lucian had no idea what was inside. I elected to keep it a secret so when I revealed his costume, Lucian beamed and immediately started humming the Star Wars theme song. He couldn’t wait to put it on!

Included in the set is the helmet and entire outfit including a cape which attaches with velcro at the top of the costume.

A belt with plenty of fake buttons ties in the back and is entirely removable. I loved this because the costume is a little bit big (8-10) and allows me to pull it in more at the waist. Overall the quality is fantastic!

Not included, but equality important for the outfit are the black Darth Vader gloves. This were higher quality than I expected but unfortunately are a bit big for my little guy. They don’t specifically say children’s gloves on the product description but since they were shown with a child’s costume, I assumed they were. He will probably only be wearing these for pictures or when his hands are cold since they are big enough so that my hands just fit.

BUY IT:

You can purchased this costume and so many more directly from Chasing Fireflies. The Darth Vader costume retails for $60 while the gloves are $15. Be sure to keep up to date on products and promotions by following Chasing Fireflies on Twitter and liking them on Facebook!

  1. Grandpa and I LOVE it! He looks just great. I hope he uses the force to get tons of goodies on Halloween. He’ll look great if he gets to wear it to school.

  2. So cute! My grandsons recently saw Star Wars and loved it. We are planning to go dressed as Super Mario characters.

  3. What size did you order for him? My 6 year old daughter wants to wear this costume this year – but choices on the sizing include either a 4/6 or 8/10. One has to potential of being super small and the other gigantic on her! Which did you go with? Thanks!
