*Thank you to Hallmark for sponsoring this post. All thoughts are my own.*
At this exact moment I can hear, “There are so many ways to say, I love you” on my television. My two year old is enjoying his morning cartoon and that line is repeated over and over in a song. I can’t help but think about the truth of that statement. There are a million ways to say it, but we all need to hear it. Whether you rarely say, “I love you” or are like my husband and me who say it all day every day, it feels to good to say it and hear it. But that doesn’t mean we don’t need to know the why. I love hearing my husband say these three little words, but nothing makes me happier than when he shares more.
He doesn’t have to love me, he chooses to.
Why?
He says he loves me and shows me with his actions, but every once in a while I really need to hear the words. The words to say why, beyond the every day, I love you. And I know he needs to hear it too.
We’ve been married 12 years and together for over 17 years. We’ve both changed in that time, but the one thing that hasn’t changed is how he makes me feel. Joe can still make me melt with a single touch, a look, a word. I love spending time with him. He is my best friend. My rock. I feel so lucky to be spending my life with someone that I can trust and count on to always be there. And my family is my world. We made our family together.
Hallmark has created a video series of couples going beyond I love you. This couple in particular really resonated with me. You can see the love they still have for each other in their words, their faces, their body language. It is hard not to love this couple.
My kids also need to hear these special words. Not just I love you, but what it is about them that I love. There are so many unique characteristics that my three boys possess that make me proud to be their mom. I’m so lucky to have them in my life.
While I’m saying everything with words, it is so much more. Sometimes the words seem to pale in comparison to the actual feelings for the people you love. Describing it is hard. That is why I appreciate Hallmark for helping me share how I feel, and put them to paper. I always know I’ve picked out the right card when it makes me cry. It never takes me long to find the perfect card!
Those that are special to you, I’m quite certain would love to know the why. Why you are so thankful to have them in your life this Valentine’s Day.
