I love Not Me! Monday created by My Charming Kids so I’ll take this time to reflect on what I did not do this past week. Please take a moment to visit MckMama’s blog and check out what she has not been up to this past week!

While taking my still potty training son Lucian to the bathroom I didn’t go immediately after him because I simply couldn’t wait. He didn’t wait in the bathroom with me while I went so we could wash his hands. And he didn’t say this as he heard me start to go, “You are going! Mommy you are doing it! You make me so happy!”. Hmm…wonder where he got that from?

On Saturday I didn’t take both of my boys to Target by myself when it was close to nap time. I never do this and usually plan all trips around naps so of course I wouldn’t knowing that my trip might not be as pleasant. And seeing that they were fading fast I did not decide to have lunch at the Target “cafe” knowing they would fall asleep in the car on the way home.

While eating our lunch I didn’t order a strawberry smoothie for my boys to drink and find that out that someone screwed up making it and it was pure water. So I didn’t just get a fountain drink to share. I didn’t feel the need to constantly refer to our drink as lemonade (since it was) because I thought others might be judging me, thinking I was giving pop to my 19 month old. (He has never had pop yet!) I wouldn’t of course worry about what others thought and so I didn’t do this multiple times. No way!

Later that night while by myself (hubby was out of town) I didn’t eat hardly anything for dinner because I just wasn’t hungry. And if I did that, I certainly wouldn’t later eat an ice cream sandwich, some Sun Chips and chocolate covered raisins because I was hungry. No sir. I would eat something nutritious certainly. And I definitely didn’t stay up until all hours of the night because nobody where there to hold me a little bit accountable just so I could finish watching the last few episodes of True Blood. I’m always too responsible for this.

  1. Just hopped over from MckMama’s .. I love the potty story. My friend’s daughter used to give her stickers and candies every time mommy went pee on the potty! I also love that you announced the drink as lemonade so no one would think you were giving your babe pop 😀 Too cute.

  2. Great ones. Love the potty story. Have had my children cheer me on for simple tasks as well. Makes me feel like a good mom. And I also have a hard time eating and sleeping when my husband is out of town. Oh wait I mean..I wouldn’t do those things either.
