I love Not Me! Monday created by My Charming Kids so I’ll take this time to reflect on what I did not do this past week. Please take a moment to visit MckMama’s blog and see what she has not been up to this past week.
I let my kids play with fun “made for kids” pots and spoons with macaroni shells in our dining room which kept them entertained for a long time. The next day I did not take these pots and put them in the bubble bath for my boys to play with, still nested. My three year old Lucian did not suddenly start to exclaim, “Get them out mommy!”, to which I thought he was speaking about sock fuzz. Wrong. I did not forget that some of the macaroni shells were still in the biggest pot so there was not about a bunch of pasta shells floating in their bath. Nope, I would never do this!
While my mother was visiting, Lucian did not decide to be ever so helpful and show my mother the toilet. And when I say show, I do not mean explain where the pee goes, where to put her butt, point out the egg shape of the seat, etc., as if my mom hadn’t seen one before. And he did not end by asking, “Grandma, do you have a butt?” to which she just laughed and explained that yes, she did!
While getting ready and putting on makeup I got a call on our cell phone. After the call was over I finished up with my makeup and proceeded with my day. I discovered a short while later that my cell phone was missing. Where did I find it? Definitely not find in my makeup bag due to being on autopilot. I wouldn’t treat my cosmetic bag like my purse. I’m never so distracted to a silly thing such as that.
And to my husband’s horror, I’m not going to share something a little nasty I did last week. I didn’t grab a coffee mug from our dishwasher one morning only to discover that while I had put soap in the dishwasher, it wasn’t actually run the night before. Yeah, I definitely didn’t drink from a dirty coffee mug because, well, that is just gross. And if I did, I certainly wouldn’t share it with the world, right? Nope, not me!
