Our New Baby Has Arrived!

After a puzzling birth, I am so happy to share with you the arrival of our newest addition, Wesley!

He was born almost two weeks early and in a way that none of us expected. (Watch for his birth story to come soon!) His labor was by far the longest of my three with contractions starting Wednesday night and leading up to his birth on Saturday night.  Wes certainly made us work to meet him but I’m so thankful and so very, very blessed to have such a healthy and beautiful baby boy to add to our family.

 Wesley James

Born on March 10th, 2012 at 9:40 p.m.

7lbs 15 oz

21 1/4″ long

We came home from the hospital yesterday morning and have been relishing this quality family time to bond and get to know our new baby.  Lucian and Warren were so excited to meet him and dote on him often.

I’ve bonded strongly with Wesley as I have with all my children and I find myself emotional and filled with so much love when I look at him or snuggle him close. This little guy has us all wrapped around his little finger. Right now I’m relishing these all too fleeting moments and trying to memorize the details that make up my favorite parts of this stage.

sweet newborn smell

curled up legs

tiny fingers and toes

wispy hair

and those soft little sounds as he sleeps

Because they leave much too soon.

I am one lucky mama.

  1. Oh MY cheeks. I want to pinch them. Great job mama, he is gorgeous! So glad you are getting lots of time to snuggle your new baby. Just looking at that picture makes me ache for a new baby. Congrats!

  2. Though this post is from March I just wanted to still stop by and say Congratulations! After reading your post I’m going to Wesleys’ birth story next to see how puzzling his birth was (though stories like that always make great stories to tell your kids and grandkids later) I’m due to give birth in 3 weeks and I love reading birth stories, not just because I learn from them or pick up some tips here and there but because I’m still at awe on how miraculous it is to give birth to a little bundle of joy and amazingness! I love Wesley’s pictures; he’s such a cute newborn! He’s now almost I’m counting 6 months and I hope those memories always stay with you that you listed, I’ll make sure to also not let those little things go by unnoticed because it does go way too fast! 🙂
