Living in Northern Minnesota the winters can get really long.  Extremely long.  Insanely LONG.  Don’t get me wrong, I love it here.  I love snow.  I love ice skating, snow shoeing, building snowmen, etc.  But with little kids it can get a little hard when they can’t be outside long in the bitter cold.  Now it is spring, and it has been rainy so still we have been indoors quite a bit.  Pacific Play Tents sent me the perfect solution to those long days indoors with the Green Camo Tent Set.

Pacific Play Tents

This 3-piece set includes a tent, chair and sleeping bag and is available in pink or green camouflage.  My boys love all things camouflage, so I knew they would like the color.  I figured they could pretend it was a hunting shack as well as a tent or a secret hide out.

I knew right away this would be a big hit with my children, but I must say it has been even better than I expected.   All 4 of my children immediately piled into the tent with the sleeping bag, some extra blankets and some snacks. I thought it was awesome that they all 4 fit inside.  (They can sit in there, but only 2 could lay in there at a time)  We have other play tents that are much smaller leaving a big fight for space.  I will admit that at 42″ x 42″ x 38″ high this tent does take up a bit of space in the living room when we set it up, but completely worth it!

Tent Features:

  • Waterproof floor
  • Stress Free set up
  • Lightweight, safe and durable
  • Portable and Versatile
  • Zipper door with velcro tie backs
  • Bag for tent and poles for storage
  • Screen on top for ventilation

Pacific Play Tent 31My kids were so excited when I told them we could take the tent outside.  The floor of the tent is a stronger, waterproof, tarp-like material so I was able to let them take it out into the grass without fear of it ruining the tent.  They have had hours of fun with it already and have asked me if they can sleep out in it sometime.  The only downside to that is that the top is open screen on 2 sides and it would likely get a little chilly overnight and we would have to make sure it was not going to rain.

Pacific Play Tents4It really is quite easy to set up.  It only has 2 poles.  I think my kids would probably struggle to set it up themselves, but for me it was not a problem.

The door of the ten is a vertical zipper and on the bottom of the doors it velcros in 2 spots so it is certainly not a completely secure tent from predators or anything.  I only point this out in case somebody was going to use it to camp out.  I can see kids getting a little freaked out in the middle of the night over the idea of something crawling in. For a play tent, it is really not an issue.

Chair Features:

  • 10″ Width x 14″ Deep x 28″ high
  • Sturdy design
  • Easy Set up
  • Cup Holder

I was extremely impressed by the quality of this chair.  We have had several different camp chairs come through our family of varying quality, and this one is certainly top notch.  It is a heavy canvas material and I love that it has a cup holder.

Sleeping Bag Features:

  • 28″ x 58″
  • 1 lb “Poly-Therm” fill
  • 2 way zipper
  • Can zip completely open
  • Velcro Closure on top of zipper
  • 100% Polyester
  • Draw string bag

The sleeping bag has already seen more use than any of the other items in this set.  My children love to have “sleep-overs” on the floors of each others rooms on the weekends.  This sleeping bag is good quality.  At 1 lb fill it is certainly not any kind of winter camping sleeping bag, but for summer camping, sleep-overs, or play, this bag is perfect.  My favorite part of it is the velcro at the top of the zipper which helps it stay zipped up while the kids toss and turn in it.

The “Green Camo” Set is only 1 of several great items available from Pacific Play Tents.  They have many other styles of tents, bed tents, play houses, tunnels, sleeping bags, parachutes and other items.  To learn more, like Pacific Play Tents on Facebook, follow them on Twitter, or visit their website at www.pacificplaytents.com.
