Finding something all of our kids enjoy isn’t always easy. But one of our favorite family activities is enjoying a movie together. A favorite over the years has been the Madagascar films from Dreamworks. My kids have always loved the series and characters, especially the scene stealing penguins. They never fail to make us laugh with their silly antics. Now we have the chance to learn more about the penguins, including how they became a covert team. I’ve been asked to share with you their new feature film, Penguins of Madagascar. It hit theaters November 26th, just in time for Thanksgiving!
Synopsis:
Super spy teams aren’t born…they’re hatched. Discover the secrets of the greatest and most hilarious covert birds in the global espionage biz: Skipper, Kowalski, Rico and Private. These elitists of the elite are joining forces with a chic undercover organization, The North Wind. Led by handsome and husky Agent Classified (we could tell you his name, but then…you know), voiced by Benedict Cumberbatch. Together, they must stop the villainous Dr. Octavius Brine, voiced by John Malkovich, from destroying the world as we know it.
- Starring: Tom McGrath, Chris Miller, Christopher Knights, Benedict Cumberbatch, Ken Jeong, Annet Mahendru, Peter Stormare and John Malkovich
- Directed By: Eric Darnell, Simon J. Smith
- Produced By: Executive Producers: Tom McGrath, Mireille Soria, Eric Darnell; Producers: Lara Breay, Mark Swift
I’ve always loved John Malkovich’s voice so I’m looking forward to seeing him play the villain in the film.
If you are looking for a fun activity with the kids to celebrate the film release, don’t forget about this easy Oreo Penguin Cookie I shared from Woman’s Day last week. It would be the perfect project before or after seeing the film in theaters!
And for even more penguin fun, you can play the Cheezy Dibbles game! This is no ordinary snack, vending machine! There are penguins stuck inside. Help them escape in the Cheezy Dibbles web game! Play now.
