I really do try not to gush too much in my posts unless I just can’t help myself. And after receiving this Lands’ End Boys Expedition Parka for my son Lucian I just really shouldn’t resist. This jacket is really just as amazing as it looks. Both my husband and I are jealous of the super nice parka my son now wears.

Features:

  • TEMPERATURE RATING: WARMEST -20°/15° Fahrenheit. learn more
  • Waterproof, windproof, 3-ply nylon shell, with DriOff™ finish
  • Exceptionally warm 600 fill power down insulation, nature’s warmest
  • New! Grow-A-Long® sleeves extend up to 1.5 inches to fit them as they grow
  • SnowGuard wrist cuffs: an interior sleeve extension lets them slip their thumb through the cuff, keeping out cold and snow
  • EZ-Zip Tab makes zipping themselves up easier
  • 360° reflective trim for better visibility
  • Parka length hits below the hip

I love the snowguard wrist cuffs which guarantees he won’t get any cold snow inside his sleeve. There is also barely noticeable Grow-A-Long® sleeves thats extend up to 1.5 inches to fit him as he grows. I’m definitely not worried about Lucian growing out of this jacket before the winter season is over.  It could extend him wearing it another year as well, although I’m sure Warren would love to have this jacket for next year.

The Expedition Parka is extremely warm and much appreciated for our cold Minnesota winters. (If you like the look of this parka but don’t need anything quite so warm, see the Boys Expedition Jacket.) We’ve played outside numerous times with this parka already and he never complain of being cold!

Other features I love are the reflective trim to make him more visible at night  and the windproof nylon shell with DriOff™ finish that has taped critical seams and is fully waterproof. They even made the zipper easier for kids and included an MP3 pocket!

This parka is available in Expedition Green as shown above and four other great colors including black, rich red, deepest cobalt and true navy. I let Lucian pick his out and of course he went for Expedition Green which featured trim and accents in his favorite color, orange!

Lucian has gotten numerous comments about this jacket. His teachers at school even remarked how gorgeous this jacket looks on him. And while this parka might feel like a bit of a splurge, you truly get what you pay for. With innovative features that help to keep your little guy warm and comfortable and a look that is sure to get compliments (trust me) it is definitely worth the price!

    1. It seems so funny to be so excited about a little boys coat. I think it is because normally the selection for boys isn’t all that exciting, which I know you can relate too. I would definitely consider buying this jacket in the next size, splurge be damned. 🙂 The quality is really that good.

      Thanks for stopping by!
