The Elusive Mother’s Day Picture with My Boys

Some of you may remember last Mother’s Day when I tried to get a good picture of me and my boys. It didn’t really work out.  Of course I wanted to try again this year with a new member of our group, baby Wes. I’ve realized that while two kids are tough to photograph, three seems nearly impossible!

This year we had absolutely gorgeous weather and a fabulous backdrop at our cottage during our stay at Ruttger’s Bay Lake Lodge in Deerwood, MN (more on that trip to come!)  I simply had to try. It was the only thing I asked for from my husband actually on Mother’s Day.

Hmm, not bad. Lucian isn’t looking at the camera (what IS he looking at?) and neither is Wes but Warren gets extra points for that face. Let’s see if we can do better.

Lucian’s eyes moved up but Wesley’s arm puts the kibosh on this one!

Aw, Lucian, you look great. l finally ditched the sunglasses but Wes is getting sad. Uh-oh.

Lucian still looks fabulous but the same can not be said for the rest of us. Sheesh.

Oh boy.  Wes is not happy. (He does look rather cute, even when he is sad though, doesn’t he?)

Lucian and Warren get extra points for cuteness and enthusiasm but me? Eh, not so much. And Wes, well…

Yikes. Wesley is not having this anymore.

That first picture is looking better and better all the time….

  1. I got a decent one of just the three kids. I didn’t even try all of us, though. Getting the kids to stand still (and hold the baby up nicely) was enough work for a Sunday morning before church! You’ve got some handsome boys, there!

  2. That first pic is a classic that many might miss! LOL But they all tell a story and so I love all of them!

  3. Kudos to you for trying. It seems family photographs with young ones are never easy. Regardless, they turned out nicely and your boys are darling.

  4. So cute and so funny. It’s so hard to get so many lil ones to co-operate. The first one of the kids was probably the best the 3rd one of you when you took your sunglasses off was the best one of you, combine the two and you would have a pretty good picture.
