Lions and tigers and bears, oh my! April 8th is National Zoo Lovers Day. As members, we enjoy visiting our local zoo year-round. It’s just the right size to visit for an afternoon and picnic in the park there for lunch. My girls love meeting the animals and we schedule our visits around the educational sessions so we have opportunity to learn something new each time.

It’s free for the family (donations are gladly accepted) and is a fun chance to see animals we don’t have in our local zoo. We fell in love with the pink flamingos on our last visit. I also look forward to seeing the beautiful giraffes!
