One thing I have found extremely frustrating in parenthood is finding the right shoes for my kids. Â They need to fit right, be easy to put on, stay on, and hold up to their active lifestyles. Â Sound simple right? Â Wrong. Â Each of my children has had their own share of issues. Â Kurtis has extremely wide feet making it a challenge to find shoes that fit. Â Keegan seems to think he can’t do anything himself, so easy to put on has been his biggest issues. Â All of them have had issues with easy to put on and stay on. Â We recently received an adorable pair of Tip Toey Joey shoes from Friendly Rooster which seem to be the answer to all of these problems for my 20 month old Delaney.
It was really hard to pick just one pair as they offer so many adorable choices, but I chose the soccer inspired Runny Sneaker-Baby in Grey with Pink Trim. Â I immediately fell in love. Â These shoes are very well made.
Features:
- Nylon and suede upper
- All natural rubber sole
- Padded leather insole to absorb perspiration–cool in summer and warm in winter
- Elastic laces and elastic detail at heel to make this shoe easy to slip on and not so easy for little babies to take off
- Flexible rubber soles with non-skid bottoms assist in learning to walk while keeping tumbles to a minimum
- Foot bed is cushioned for comfort
While Delaney has been walking for several months, I find she still stumbles sometimes, especially in certain shoes, making it hard to pick shoes for her. Â I love that these are not bulky. Â So many shoes have such bulky soles making her trip easily. Â That definitely was not a problem with the Tip Toey Joey shoes.
With the Elastic laces and elastic back they are SO easy to put onto her foot and no laces to come untied. Â Perfect.
Since Delaney can’t tell me whether or not the shoes are comfortable, I have to assume that she is happy in them as she doesn’t fuss or try to take them off. Â I think with the very soft upper and padded insole, they must be very comfortable.
My only problem with the shoe was actually my own error. Â Size. Â I ordered a size 21-24 month (Delaney will be 21 months in a couple weeks). Â The shoes are very large. Â I knew they would be a little big as she is small for her age, but I did not look close enough to realize that a size 21-24 months is the equivalent of a US size 8. Â My 3 year old currently wears a size 9. Â She can definitely wear them now, and that would be a small child’s 8, but definitely big for a 21-24 month size in my opinion. Â I realized after the fact there is a size chart on the Friendly Rooster site that I should have used. Â Even with how big they are, Delaney is easily able to walk in the shoes and they stay firmly on her feet.
I would absolutely recommend these shoes to anyone with a little one. Â They have shoes for babies and toddlers in styles and colors for boys and girls including 10 different colors of the Runny Sneakers that I received (they have boy colors too!), and many other adorable styles such as Mary Janes, Boots, and Funky Sneakers.
