Wordless Wednesday – Breathtaking Views

This past weekend we were blessed to have close friends from college stay with us overnight with their family. I was shocked to realize that it had been over 6 years since we had last seen them and yet nothing had changed except now we both have two kids. It was so nice to connect and I hope that it isn’t another six before we spend time with them again!
They live a few hours away and their children have never been to the area so we decided to take them up on top of the hill to really get some breathtaking views from above.
This park is so much more than a view but rather a perfect spot for the kids to explore and parents to take in the picturesque scenes. From a peace bell, rock garden, tower and gazebo overlooking Lake Superior and so much more, it is a photographers dream. (No wonder we happened upon several family photo shoots in session.)

It was a gorgeous fall day spent with family and friends. What more could anyone ask for?

Gorgeous – I miss taking trips up to the North Shore, Gooseberry Falls & Lake Superior. So much beauty, especially with the changing leaves!
It is so nice to spend time with good friends. I don’t think friendship cares much about time… the bonds don’t diminish. Looks like a great time.
O wow. That does look like a beautiful spot for family photos 🙂
Gorgeous pictures! I love those views!
so beautiful!
Beautiful shots! It looks like it was a nice day for everyone. I’m kind of envious of the fall pictures I am seeing all over the blogosphere today, especially since I am sitting here in a short sleeved top, short skirt and sandals. LOL
Such pretty views.
Gorgeous view! It’s always good to spend time with friends.
That does look like such a beautiful place to take pictures! I just love the name Lucian, btw 🙂
Stunning view! I bet the kids loved it! Our boys keep asking to go on a hike!
Very nice. I miss the midwest. It’s always so green this time of year.
Duluth has the most gorgeous views! Love to visit there!
We could not have asked for a better weekend!! So glad we were able to get together. I agree with the above comment that friendship isn’t affected by time – at least not true ones!!
beautiful! love the last pic
Lovely pictures! What is it with boys and rocks? 😉 My grandson is loving finding rocks these days, too!
Looks like you all had a great time! It’s always tough reconnecting because it could be either awesome or awkward. Thanks for sharing – I love learning of new places!
