Wordless Wednesday – Lotion? Uh-oh.

It is never a good thing when your four year old comes up to you and says, “Mommy, you have to see what Warren has done in the living room.” while you are cleaning up the breakfast dishes. You just might walk in to find this:
And your two year old is hiding naked behind the rocking chair with lotion all over his arms and legs which also smeared some on the back of the chair and on your hardwood floors because he is crouched down. Of course he is looking all guilty so you decide to not reward him by taking a picture of him in this sorry state (as much as you would love to for your blog) because he loves having his picture taken.
Naturally you aren’t secretly seething at your husband who decided to take care of those nasty callouses on his feet the night before. He of course wouldn’t leave this lotion out with a fun pump that any two year old would be fascinated to check out. No way, right? And your kid wouldn’t decide it makes for some fun finger paint.
And you can’t look at this situation and just laugh. (tehehehehehehe *cough* no, I’m really MAD. Fuming. Ok, maybe not. This is just too funny. Hehehehehe.)
Sigh…

Oh No! That’s a big mess!
I found my 2yo spilled nail polish on my couch! LOL It wasn’t funny back then, but whatdaya do?
oh my gosh I am seriously laughing out loud right now…only because similar things have a happened in my house! Gotta love 2 year olds!
Ahhhh… nice. What a fun surprise for you to find. Er, not. I swear kids know exactly what NOT to get into and that’s what they go for first.
awwww im seeing that kind most of the times too!
That’s funny! Gavin did that with Desitin Creamy once all over his bedroom. That was HORRIBLE to clean up!
Oh My! I remember those days, when my now 8 year old daughter was 2. She would smear it head to toe. She wanted to smell pretty.
She also had this big stuffed pony she could ride on. She was 2, and she decided to shampoo and cut its hair. It was all goopy from the shampoo, that we had to throw it out. It broke my heart, because it was her favorite toy.
Trust me, you will be laughing about this years to come. LOL My little sister is 32 now, and I remember when she was 4, she did the same thing. We still razz her about it. 🙂
Ugh – funny but not funny!!
Been there. But. With VASELINE! Have you ever tried to get Vaseline off of your couch? Or, out of your 2 year old’s hair?! He looked like The Fonz for a week after that b/c his hair was so slicked back!
LOL I would have taken his picture! My 3 year old loves to put on pump lotion. Then she walks around with little fists trying not to get her special lotion on anything 🙂
with so many kids (6) and SO many things they have gotten into over the years, this seems pretty tame (LOL!) but still not funny…well, maybe just a little. OK a LOT. you made me laugh and appreciate that older kids get themselves into WHOLE different kinds of slippery or sticky little messes, but am glad i am beyond the sticky kinds such as this. (my worst was a hey day of nail polish, crayons, and non washable markers. BOLD tip no less!…i was appalled and cried…remember it well.)
Uh oh is right! I could totally see MY two year old doing the same thing!
i have a nephew who used to get himself into similar situations..one time he got his hands sticky from lotion then..cause of the dog hair in the house when went and showed my mom what had happened she said he looked like a werewolf cause all the hairs were sticking to him
WOW, I hope I never see this in my house. BUT, thankfully it was lotion and not something that would stain. Thanks for the laugh!
Oh boy. That’s a little bit of wrong right there.
Oh, gosh, I’ve had many of those moments with my twin boys! LOL
LOL!!! It would have been so hard not to take his picture. Thanks for the laugh today.
Reminds me of when my daughter was found with diaper rash cream all over her face and hair! Luckily none got into her mouth. Fun!
Lol, I could so picture my 2 year old doing that too!!
I know that picture is going to be part of my collection some day. So far we’ve avoided it with our 2 year old but I *know* it’s coming.
