Wordless Wednesday – Stuck at McDonald’s Playland

My boys love to play in the McDonald’s Playland and consider it a special treat.

I’m in Minnesota. A state where it is often cold. Where right now we have a blizzard going on, yes, a BLIZZARD. So sometimes it is necessary to find a space, any space, where my boys can have a chance to play with other kids and burn off some energy when being outside just isn’t an option.

I was sitting to the side of the playland where I had a pretty good view of everything going on but Warren wandered in the one section where I couldn’t see him. After a few moments I heard him calling for me.

I discovered him like this.

Yes, he had climbed up into this high chair and strapped himself in.  “Mommy, I’m stuck.”

Wait, just a moment honey so I can snap a couple of pics with my phone. I just couldn’t resist…

    1. Actually this one doesn’t have a ball pit. There is a tree house with stairs, tunnels and a big slide but no ball pits!

And yeah, first thoughts, oh this could be my WW!

  1. Poor kid. I remember one time at the Playland I was sitting looking @ a magazine. I looked down, looked up & couldn’t find my kid.
Then I spot him. At some bday party & the mom is giving him cake.
    OMG! I was mortified.

  2. Hahaha! That is pretty cute! And I don’t blame you for taking your kids there. I will take my kids just about anywhere to get them moving during the very long winter!

  3. If you’re a bad mom, I’m a worse mom. Confession session – we go to McDonald’s 2-3 times a month. Yes, I said month. And Rowan has done that exact same thing Warren did. Silly boy to get in the high chair and strap himself in. 😉

    1. Well, *cough* most of the time when we go we don’t go to the one with the playland or we don’t have time. Ahem.

But again, I try to feed them healthy meals as often as I can. I really limit my kids sugar intake. They drink milk with virtually every meal, have never had pop (soda) and eat a lot of fruit. I try to balance it all out.

  4. My 11yo son’s 3 day trip up to Wolf Ridge was canceled today because of the blizzard. We were supposed to head up there at 6:30am So bummed. And who in the world would say something to you about being at McDonalds? Whoever would is just an idiot!

    1. What a bummer! I remember going to Wolf Ridge when I was a kid too! The timing really sucks! Do you know if they will postpone it?

      1. They’re thinking May, but it sounds pretty packed. Might have to have adults stay in hotels. We’ll have to see how much that would cost, but I could handle a hotel. =)

  5. At least it was just in the high chair! My son got “stuck” in the 3 story play structure and they had to send a very irked looking teenage employee up to drag him out. He yelled and cried for a good 30 minutes before we arranged rescue. Now we stick to the drive through! Lol.

    1. That is so not funny but I didn’t kind of just chuckle. I’ve had to go up there too to get a kiddo out before. I could get to the top of the tree house but had to use my other son to get him to come over. I was afraid I’d get stuck in the tunnel! 🙂

  6. I totally get where you’re coming from. Wyoming here. Where a lot of places get Spring Showers, we get Spring snow. I call it mud season. We live in a town with dirt roads and it is just a total mess. The snow doesn’t last as long but sure keeps everything mudded up.
I have not seen one of those ball play areas in a long time. LOL I haven’t seen a McDonalds in a long time for that matter. Not b/c I disapprove of them. We are 50 miles from one.

  7. Adorable! Too funny that he got himself all buckled in and couldn’t get out.

And you won’t get any judging from me. I wish we only ate fast food “once in a while”. 😛

Happy WW! Stop by if you get a chance today.
