DIY Vintage Paper Ball Ornaments #MakeItGiveIt

If someone would have told me last year that making my own paper ornaments would be easy, I wouldn’t have believed them. At least not easy for me.ย Homemade ornaments used to mean something you made in school and brought home as a gift to your mom and dad. Certainly ย not a project I would take on myself. But lately I’ve been bit by the crafting bug. And when I discovered just how easy it is to create these paper ball ornaments with just a few materials, I was hooked. ย I thought it would be a perfect way to incorporate the theme of Nostalgic Noel as part of ย Joann Fabrics Make Gifts Merrier campaign that I was asked to participate in.ย If you’ve never tried making your own vintage paper ball ornaments, you really should give them a try!
Materials Needed
- scrapbook paper
- 3″inch paper hole punch
- twine
- mini gold bells (optional)
- glue stick
- glue gun
Directions:
To make a single ornament, punch out 16 three inch circles using your favorite paper. I wanted a nostalgic feel for my ornaments so I chose vintage scrapbook paper. I picked four different patterns and make four circles each.

That is all there is to it! ย These make great gifts and are a perfect holiday project for your kids!

I feel the same way you did about homemade ornaments being something you did at school for your parents . I like how easy these are to do.
These are so pretty! I will be doing this for next Christmas. I have a few family members that would love them and they would make really nice homemade gifts.
My most treasured ornaments are those that my now grown children made when they were elementary school kids. I like to do arts & crafts with my 2 granddaughters (sisters) and for their tree we made construction paper chain linked multi-colored garland. They were so proud of their project. ๐
I’m bookmarking this for later this year. Those are so cute!
I had to pin this so everyone would see how cute it is and the kids would love making them for our tree and to give as gifts too. I’m saving old xmas cards to cut up and make them with .
I love the look of home-made ornaments. You are making family memories as well as the ornaments!
Really cool and unique idea!
