A Room Transformed with weeDECOR {Review}

My baby girl is growing up. It seems like only yesterday I was paging through nursery designs online trying to find the perfect crib set for her room. I wound up using the set my sister-in-law borrowed to me – Classic Winnie The Pooh. As my girl nears four years old, I knew it was time to make a change in her room but I wanted to avoid painting. I purchased fabric to make a quilt for her long before she was born and that project seems to continually be delayed. I’d like her room colors to still match that fabric when I finally finish it. So how do I make a transformation without paint or color palette changes? To start we added an amaaaaazing vinyl wall decal from weeDECOR!

Piece by piece we constructed a stunning tree in our daughter’s bedroom. It was like a big puzzle but it was labeled well and with a little help from my husband (and the attempted help of a three-year old) we transformed her room in one simple step. The white of this design just popped on her deep pink walls. I LOVE it and so does she.

We also added some letter decals. Since my daughter was a baby I’ve sung the song “You Are My Sunshine” to her at bedtime. I chose those words for her wall as a reminder to myself and to her as she’s mastering her ABC’s and pre-reading skills right now and loves seeing them on her wall. We’ve been through a lot this year and she truly IS my sunshine each and every day.

The letters were pretty easy to apply to the wall but it was easiest with two people (as was the tree) and both my husband and I agreed that the letters were far harder than the tree. It’s important to maintain the alignment and spacing of the letters but the application sheet didn’t peel away from the letters as easily as we had hoped. We put them to the wall lightly and then smoothed out the bubbled areas with a rag being careful to keep the spacing. The finished project was the perfect touch and although the white didn’t pop off the wall quite as well on the light green color it is still very readable.

As we were wrapping up the tree application my daughter was helping us find the leaves and suddenly yelled, “Mommy I see a dragonfly!” I assumed that she was just seeing several leaves grouped together but sure enough there on the end of the roll of vinyl were three beautiful dragonflies. I was stunned. Some of you know that I lost triplets in February and a few months ago I discovered a poem about dragonflies that has given me so much peace. Whenever I see them now I think of my sweet babies. I’ve had several encounters with them since and when I saw this surprise I started to weep tears of joy and amazement. I didn’t request them, but there they were. They are the absolute perfect addition to her wall and it makes me feel like my babies are watching over her each day. Thank you weeDECOR for this gift.
