Welcome to this week’s edition of Aloha Friday. At the insistence of my mom (hi mom!) that it was a great way to get to know interesting things about me, I decided to participate again!

In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought that on Fridays I would take it easy on posting, too. Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response.

What is something that your child has recently done or said that made you melt?

For me it was when my two year old goes up to his brother to sweetly say, “night, night, Lou, night, night” and pats him on the back. Since Warren didn’t turn two that long ago, seeing him interact with Lucian or imitate our actions always affects me. My baby is growing up!

Now it is your turn to share!

  1. My daughter just a few days ago told me that I have beautiful babies and I should keep having them! It was more funny than anything, I wonder where she heard that from?!

  2. My little guy is all into telling me “You good girl Mama” and then he gives me a giant hug and kiss. Love the sweet little things he says and does. My 6 year old has also learned how to kiss up. He wanted something the other day and kept complimenting me. Hmmm. . . maybe he taught this to the little guy already 😉

  3. Just this morning, my older daughter is having pj day at school and was looking for a stuffed animal to take. My son offered up his beloved ‘cat’ for her to take. She refused it saying it is too gross and he was heartbroken. He was very sweet.

  4. My daughter is a little over 5 months old so she is learning new things every day. I am loving EVERY MINUTE…

  5. First off…I love your name. I have identical twin girls and their names are Emilie and Erynn! We had never seen the spelling like that before ours…but see it every now and then now. 🙂
As for the question…my girls and I were in the bathroom at Safeway. You know how it goes while you’re right in the middle of shopping, they have to go. So we went. When the girls were washing their hands…the bathroom was full. All the stalls were full.
Emilie screamed a huge excited scream that was SO loud. I instantly said…”Emilie, there is not ONE human being on the face of the earth that would think that was funny.” Her identical twin sister piped up and said, “Mom…I actually think it’s really funny.” I said, “Of course your twin sister does…that just figures.” And we all cracked up laughing. This was a big moment for us to realize that is the reason that my girls do half the things they do because they are making their sister laugh.
    Pretty funny.
    Happy Friday.

  6. When my girls hug and kiss each other. Not when they’ve fought and I make them make up…it’s when it’s spontaneous and I happen to see it!
