Finding Smiles with Aquaphor Diaper Rash Cream

We’ve been a fan of Aquaphor for years. In fact the original Aquaphor Healing Ointment is the diaper rash cream our pediatrician recommends. My six-year old has used it since she was little and still uses it today when she has a sore bottom. Aquaphor has asked me to share their NEW product, Aquaphor Baby Diaper Rash Cream.
Aquaphor has a large line of convenient products to fit any size from pocket, purse to diaper bag. I’ve used it for chapped lips, dry skin and as a moisture barrier for my daughter’s bottom.
Aquaphor Baby Diaper Rash Cream protects your baby’s delicate skin, provides soothing relief and effectively treats diaper rash. Formulated with Zinc Oxide and Panthenol, the cream creates an effective barrier and protects your baby’s skin all night long. Use to prevent diaper rash or at the first signs.
The new diaper rash cream has the added ingredient, Zinc Oxide and Panthenol, adding a new white color to the traditionally clear cream.
Benefits:
- Pediatrician recommended brand
- Clinically proven to relieve diaper rash within 6 hours
- Skin protectant formulated with Zinc Oxide to prevent, soothe and treat diaper rash flare-ups
- Instantly helps protect against diaper rash and soothes irritations
- Preservative and fragrance free
- Ideal size for your diaper bag
To celebrate the release of their new product I was asked to decorate a white onesie (white like the new cream!) in a way to show how Aquaphor Baby Diaper Rash Cream helps my little one. If you’d like to design your own onesie (a fun craft for big kids to help with too!) consider the following supplies: fabric markers, fabric paint (puff paint is fun), iron-on or adhesive patches, bows, fabric glue, stencils and parchment paper.
I decided to add hearts to my shirt sleeves representing how much we love Aquaphor.
TIPS: Add a layer of parchment paper between your fabric layers to avoid any marker or paint from seeping through to the back. If using a fabric marker like I did, dab the marker onto your fabric instead of trying to draw/write like a traditional marker. Take your time and allow the marker to absorb into the fabric before moving ahead with your shapes.
I used a letter stencil to apply the word “smile” to the backside (who doesn’t love adorable words on a baby’s bum?). My baby girl recently had a sore bottom from an amoxicilin rash. I was so thankful to see her smiles return when she was feeling better.
TIPS: Hold the stencil firmly against your fabric and dab your paint or marker onto the fabric. Avoid applying too much paint/marker so it doesn’t seep past the edges of the stencil. Wipe your stencil well on both sides before applying the next letter. The fabric markers dried pretty quickly but I set a paper towel on top of each letter as I applied the next one to avoid transferring color.
To continue our “smile” theme I added a fun little smiley face to the red heart on the front of the onesie in a contrasting blue using fabric puff paint.
TIP: Practice your design on paper before applying to your shirt. When using puff paint less is more. A thin line of paint will 1) dry faster 2) look cleaner 3) stick to itself less when washed.

We’d love to see your onesie creations! Be sure to share a picture.
Here’s another design idea using the fabric marker, stencils, free handed hearts and bows glued to the shoulders with fabric glue. There are endless ways you could design your own onesie. These make great gifts!
