Almost every weekend we have my in-laws over for dinner. Afterwards the adults play games while the kids watch a movie. It is a great way to connect with family. This year for Mother’s Day my in-laws came over and my husband made three racks of ribs for all of us to enjoy with this homemade barbecue sauce!
You can make this sauce ahead of time to let the flavors really blend or you can make it the day of. My husband likes to smoke the ribs first, then slow cook in the oven before bringing them back onto the grill to brown them and slather in barbecue sauce.
When we have guests over, the last thing I want to do is spend a bunch of time in the kitchen doing cleanup. This was especially true for Mother’s Day so we used Dixie Ultra® Disposable Plates to keep cleaning at a minimum. I stocked up on them from Amazon and got a box of eight packages to help me get through summer days, perfect for when we are grilling, enjoying a picnic or just plain busy. This is the strongest plate they’ve ever made, so it can handle even the biggest meals without bending or folding.
I’ve never been a fan of flimsy disposable plates. Thankfully, these Dixie Ultra® Disposable Plates are up to the challenge of heavy and messy meals like these ribs with their new reinforced rim. My husband even used them for serving and loaded the disposable plates with ribs. They worked great and the meal was a hit!
I know we’ll get a lot of use out of our stack of colorful Dixie Ultra® plates. With the strength of these plates, you could actually #NeverDoDishes again!
- 1 cup ketchup
- ⅓ cup brown sugar
- 1 clove minced garlic
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tablespoons cider vinegar
- 2 tablespoons yellow mustard
- 1 teaspoon onion powder or 1 tablespoon finely diced onion
- 2 dashes hot sauce (optional)

What would you do with the extra time each day if you didn’t have to do dishes this summer?
