If you follow me on Instagram you may have caught my excitement when my new Hoover MaxExtract 60 PressurePro carpet washer arrived. Originally I had wanted to really scrub our old basement playroom carpeting. That was, until we had major flooding in the area and our carpet was ruined. Now I’m thrilled to have something to clean it when it gets dirty so I can keep it looking like new for as long as possible!
To try it out, my husband went to town on our horrible dining room rug. I’ve been wanting to replace this rug for ages but I figured there wasn’t a point until our kids got a bit older and stopped spilling on it. Now that we just added a third child it will be even longer before it is replaced. We cleaned it before bed and in the morning I woke up to a fresh smelling rug that looked 10x better than it had before.
At the end of breakfast I hear a little voice sounding a bit guilt say, “Uh-oh. Mom, I think we need to clean the rug again.” And look down and see this.
Yep. Warren had spilled milk on the rug. Our still slightly damp because it was just cleaned rug. Some may cry at spilled milk but my only reaction was, “Are you serious? Really? Ugh.” as I proceeded to clean it up. He didn’t do it on purpose, even if he had the absolute worst timing. It is just part of being a parent. You have to learn to roll with the punches and find the humor in these things. (Or in my case see a blogging opportunity and snap a picture.)
My husband’s response? “This will give us an opportunity to try out the little cleaning head.”
Glad he can roll with it too!

Our living room is the room we are always in so the rug gets a bit dirty too. I need to buy a vacuum like that so I can help my wife clean the carpet.

Had to read this since I cleaned a fur ball off the rug this morning. I’m always looking for a good vacuum but can’t seem to get more than 2 years out of one. And I worry about the warranty on my carpet. I was thinking about a Dyson and the installers said it would void the warranty!

My obsession is having our carpets clean at home. I would prefer to have hardwood but unfortunately here in FL is nearly impossible so I always keep searching for a great vacuum that won’t loose suction and that it can clean great! Thanks for this great review. I’ll see if they sell it at bed bath and beyond locally and i’ll go get it! 🙂

With all the messes and dirt our boys make this would be great. We usually rent the machine at the grocery store. This is a great option for do it your selfers like us. Looks like a good product. Thanks for the review.

Isn’t that the way it always works. I always just clean the floor, then decide to serve rice for dinner. Which always ends up out of my toddlers mouth and onto his pants, shirt, bib which leads to the floor. Just how it is. I am learning boys are just meant to be dirty. 🙂

I did not know that Hoover made such an incredible rug cleaning machine! It looks like it really works, and I would love to have to clean up all those spots and messes that gets made in my house. It seems that just when I think my house is clean, a big mess happens. I would love to own this machine!
