It is scary to think that my baby is already 11 months old. How did that happen? And while I’m sorry to leave the little baby stage behind I love all the new things I’m able to experience with him, including playing with toys! A couple of weeks ago the Mega Bloks® First Builders™Safari Train was delivered to our house on a Saturday morning, shortly after breakfast. The timing was perfect because Wes was getting a bit bored with his toys and was so excited to see something new!
All aboard the First Builders™ Safari Train by Mega Bloks and explore exotic places with fun new animal friends native to faraway lands. Your little safari fan can press down on the train whistle for a short toot to signal everyone that the rugged Safari Train is coming through on big blue wheels that can roll easily on any surface. These new buildable safari friends come with big friendly faces, cute smiles, and big prongs to let your child have hours of fun stacking First Builders blocks and safari animals on top of each other. Build and rebuild a fun First Builders™ safari park with your child to take passengers around to see all of the animals, or have them hitch a ride and give them a safari parade in front of all their fans.
I don’t think the stock images do justice for the super fun and bright colors of this toy! Wes was itching to play with the pieces as I pulled them out one by one out of the packaging. What really surprised me was how quickly and easily he understood what to do with his train. While I did help him out with the stacking, his little hands could easily pick up and take off the pieces because of their generous size. And following his intuition, he began pushing it along and watching the wheels move all on his own.
This toy is very well made and one that I can feel comfortable with Wes playing on his own. It comes with five animals including alligator, elephant, hippo, lion and parrot! As an added bonus, the train has a workable whistle just by pressing down on the bright red button at the top of the train.
I love that this toy has no batteries and encourages Wesley’s motor skills along with this imaginative play. It is also one that can grow with him. My older boys (ages 5 and 6) also liked playing withthe train with their baby brother which was super sweet to see. The only thing they asked for was an additional train car. Apparently they feel all trains need several to work with. And given that this set could be built up with additional Mega Bloks, an additional train car or two would definitely be put to good use!
