Halloween simply has to be one of the funnest occasions for throwing a party. Party City has a fantastic selection of Halloween party supplies for almost any scary (or not so scary) theme you can dream up.  I decided to throw a party for my boys with their cousins and some of their friends and my mom was happy to help me host and offer up her home. (Thanks, Mom!) I chose the Spider Frenzy theme because I couldn’t resist those cute spiders! I thought it would work well for the twelve kids attending ranging in age from two years old to thirteen and my boys happen to love spiders.

We received the Spider Frenzy Ultimate Party for 16 guests ($99.99) which is a great way to plan a party without having to think much about supplies. The only downside to this set was that no dessert plates were included which would have been something I would have purchased separately had I realized.

This set included everything from decorations to plates, cups and flatware to a pumpkin pinata with goodies to fill it!

Two sets of table decorations were included in this set including the Spider Frenzy Table Cover ($2.99) and the 27 piece Haunted House Decorating Kit ($5.99)

Because my mom and I are not capable of going small, a whole lot of food was offered including sloppy joes, chowder, deli roll ups, mummy hot dogs, Halloween themed Jello shapes and witch’s brew punch.

For dessert I served my easy but addictive vanilla caramel corn, presented in a Party City black and orange serving bowl and these fun Wilton Worms in a Coffin Brownies.

My mom made these amazing pumpkin cupcakes with cream cheese frosting which I tinted orange and displayed using my reusable Wilton Halloween Fun Pix and 4 tier dessert stand.

The Jack-o-Lantern Pinata ($14.99) was the highlight of the evening and was a lot of fun. Due to the wide age range of kids, the pinata was set a bit low for the older kids to allow the younger kids to hit it. Because of this, the older blindfolded kids kept hitting the stem of the pumpkin and ripping it off the string rather than actually breaking the pinata. While we were able to re-attach it several times, eventually I had to shake the candy out the top because there was no longer anything to attach it to.

The kids didn’t seem to mind however and they had a ton of fun grabbing for the candy and small plastic toys which were included with our kit.

This party was a lot of fun to throw. I especially enjoyed my day spent with my mom decorating and preparing food and while the kids enjoyed the nice day outside on the trampoline and playing with the XBox 360. I was really pleased with the ultimate party kit from Party City which even included items for treat bags and took most of the guess work out of planning for party supplies.  I especially loved the 11 ft Happy Halloween Fringe Banner ($4.99).
