Valentine’s Day Whoopie Pies and a Sweet Wilton {Giveaway} CLOSED

Nothing shows your love like making something homemade for Valentine’s Day. And nothing gives me a better excuse to bake then to show others I want to make them something homemade. Crafts may not be my strong suit but baking on the other hand is a favorite! Wilton makes this easy with all their fun Valentine’s Day baking ideas and products that make even the simplest treats look amazing and hard to resist. I decided I wanted to try out their heart shaped whoopie pie pan to do just that.
These heart shaped cakes were made from a completely homemade batter are very easy to prepare. I used the recipe is located right on the back of the Wilton pan packaging which took all the guesswork out of trying to find one on my own. I also followed the instructions for the whoopie pie filling which includes marshmallow creme. Yum!
An idea for filling on the back included seedless raspberry jam. This did create a nice flavor combination but be warned that less is so much more with the jam or you will have one very messy whoopie pie on your hands. It also made the tops slide a bit so it made for a less secure pie.
I tried one of the assembled whoopie pies immediately after filling them and it was like a taste of HEAVEN. Absolutely amazing. But I want to warn you not to put these into the refrigerator. The instructions on the filling say say to assemble the whoopie pie immediately after preparing (and I did) but I did take my time. I noticed that a few of my whoopie pies started to slide a little bit so I thought I’d put them in the refridgerator to firm them up. This was a bad idea as the marshmallow creme filling went a bit flat and oozed out of the pie a bit. The cake also got a little sticky so for best results do not do this.
I sprinkled them with some powdered sugar before serving and loved the look it created. The taste was still awesome and nothing says I love you like a heart filled with some scrumptious marshmallow filling. Am I right?
I know how you all love a giveaway so found some amazing other items along with two of the featured whoopie pie pans to give you some fun Valentine’s Day baking products! Something I would love to own that wasn’t already mentioned in this post is the Heart Tasty-Fill Pan. I would love to also win this because of the heart that is shaped inside of the cake. If I would win this I would love to make this cake for others and when they cut the cake they would see somthing unexpected inside and it would put a big smile on their face and when I bake for others I love to see smiles on the work I have done.
