When it comes to my bag, I’ve really changed over the years. When I was younger it was always a smaller handbag, sometimes with a short drop. When I started working in an office it switched over to a can-carry-everything-but-the-kitchen-sink large hobo bag. As I got older, I realized what a pain literally it was to carry such a heavy bag. By then I started having kids and switched off between using just a diaper bag and a medium sized handbag so I could stash some stuff for my kids. Now that my youngest is potty trained, I’m all for simple. I go for function and prefer using a wristlet to handle all my essentials and moving that into a smaller cross body when I need a bit more room. So what’s in my bag?
Not a lot. If my bag gets overfilled it is usually from old receipts and a few stray snacks. I have a few absolute musts in my bag including the obvious choices like cash, credit cards and my license. I always have my cell phone, lip gloss, nail file, and hair tie on the ready too. I can’t be without my shades, and you can typically find them of my head if not in use when I’m out. I like having minty fresh breath and an option for when my mouth is dry so I like spearmint gum and breath mints. I even try to keep a lens cloth on me not only for glasses but for when I have my camera with me. And I never go out without protection for good ‘ole Aunt Flo visits. *ahem*
I prefer discreet protection like the new Tampax Pocket Pearl. It is just like Tampax Pearl but in a pocket size. I’ve spied this product sitting on a Target endcap for the last few weeks. Since Target is at least a weekly stop for me, the display kept calling out to me with their free gift with purchase deal.
While it is available in all the sizes you’d expect including regular, super and super plus, when I’m on the go I typically want the ultimate in protection. So I picked up a box of the super plus. At first I wondered how in the world they made the packaging so small. Was I going to have to assemble something or use something less ideal in order for this to work? (I’m definitely not a fan of the no-applicator tampon.) Nope. It is cooler than that. It has a smooth extendable applicator. Just a gentle tug and it extends to the normal size.
It still has the Built in Backup™ Braid with channels leaks back into the core and a breakthrough wrapper with discreet, easy-open tab. It is still easy to place the used applicator back into the wrapper for disposal.
What is not to love about this new compact size? It works perfectly for my less is more motto when it comes to my bag.

I try to pack very light in my handbag because I don’t like to carry around a super heavy handbag. Your stuff looks about like what I pack!
