Right before the holidays this year, Warren and I battled wretched cold and flu. While my son suffered from fever, chills, loss of appetite and a severe cough, I struggled with severe body aches, cough, chills and loss of my voice and appetite. Basically we were both miserable. My son was feeling much better after a fews days, but mine held out much longer, and at the worst time of year. Mom sick at the holidays makes everything tough. especially when out of state guests are visiting.

For a long time I always kept products on hand that would help me battle through illness. But lately I’ve been keeping more available for the kids and less for adults. My husband and I get sick less often than our kids do, so I wasn’t making sure we were prepared. I now know how wrong that is. Products like Vicks DayQuil Severe and NyQuil Severe Cold & Flu would have brought me some much needed relief when I was at my worst. And really, I was very much at my worst. I am mom, and I don’t get a sick day. I can’t stop just because I don’t feel good.

Vicks DayQuil NyQuil Severe Cold and Flu

So why these products? Both have maximum symptom-fighting ingredients to relieve your worst cold and flu symptoms and are available in caplets or liquid.

  • Cough due to minor throat and bronchial irritation
  • Minor aches and pains
  • Headache
  • Fever
  • Sore throat
  • Reduces swelling of nasal passages
  • Temporarily restores freer breathing through the nose
  • Promotes nasal and/or sinus drainage
  • Helps loosen phlegm (mucus) and thin bronchial secretions to rid the bronchial passageways of bothersome mucus and make coughs more productive

Vicks DayQuil Severe Cold and Flu Capsuls

It amazes me that these little pills can make such a difference. When I’m down, I need some help. I really wish I had had Vicks. But, now I’m prepared.

Last month I picked up both varieties from Walmart since they really have everything you need to get through cold and flu season at the best everyday value, especially compared with the pharmacy near my house. With a single visit I bought some Vicks Severe, tissues, cough drops, and hand sanitizer. My absolute must-haves for cold and flu season.

  1. I always buy a pack of dayquil gel caps and nyquil gel caps every year and that’s what i use if anyone in household gets sick.

  2. I have bought these products before in liquid form, didn’t know they came in caplets. Much easier to take. Thanks for the info.
