Wordless Wednesday – Winter Blues? Have a Picnic!

To fight the winter blues, I decided to change things up today. For lunch we had a picnic in our living complete with beach towel, packed lunches and our imaginations. The boys loved it!
Me: Oh the sun is just bright today. Good thing I brought my sunglasses.
Lucian: Yeah, and the sand is just so sandy.
Warren: There is noooo sand, silly. We in our living woom.
Lucian (whispering): It is for pretend Warren!
Warren: Oh, yeah. There is just so much, mommy.
It was a great way to break up our rather uneventful day and just getting to have a juice box (which isn’t something they get all that often) and eating on the floor in the living room (which never happens) was so exciting for them. Using our imaginations created some super cute conversations!

What a good mom you are, and what a fabulous idea to break up the monotony of winter. Your little boys are so cute. Why don’t we live closer, dang it? We’d have all sorts of great playdates.

We do living room picnics too! We’ve actually gone overboard perhaps because we keep the kiddie picnic table in the living room just for this reason!
Our kids love the indoor picnics, too!
You probably made their day and their week with that winter picnic!
