If you follow me via my social media channels like instagram you may have already heard I had the opportunity to host a Bright Starts Having a Ball Playdate Party earlier this month. I applied because I knew that my 14 month old son Wesley would have a blast but also because it was a good excuse to have some friends over to play!

What I didn’t realize was just how many toys we would be receiving. When two huge boxes arrived on our doorstep it was a bit like Christmas morning.

Bright Starts HAB Playdate BoxWes was in total awe and the older boys loved checking it all out too. Over the course of the next few days we pulled out a toy or two each day leading up to the party. It was a lot of fun to share the new toys with Wes, especially since balls have always been a favorite. (We did do a ball theme first birthday after all!)

When our guests arrived for the party, it was a lot of chaos! (Shocker, right?)  Balls were flying and kids were smiling, my kind of party! Even the older siblings got in on the action.Bright Starts Having a Ball Party Collage 1While all the toys received some play time, there were definitely a few favorites including the Get Rollin Activity Table. The kids loved watching the balls go into the center of the table and end up on one of the four legs. Since it is random it is fun to see where they ended up.

One of their newest toys, Count & Roll Buggie offered a surprise ending. The kids liked watching the balls spin around under the wings as it traveled along the floor. When the bug hit an obstacle it turned around and keep going.  Eventually the wings sprung open and balls flew out!  Bright Starts Having a Ball Party Collage 2And the other popular toy was the Pop & Roll Roadster. The kids loved that it was a ride on toy with car sounds but the favorite feature was ability to shoot balls out the front.  It was easy for them to put the balls into the steering wheel and then move the gear shift to  release the balls.  Just be careful not to add too many balls or they can get stuck! I love the compact size of this rid-on.

Bright Starts Having a Ball Playdate 2After all that playing we had some hungry guests. I served sandwiches, crackers, and fruit, buffet style. I couldn’t resist adding a yogurt parfait bar. This was a great choice and perfect for all ages!

It was so nice to have the bite sized fruit for the smallest guests and the kids really felt like they were getting a treat. The Pirate’s Booty was also a hit and it was hard to keep the little hands away from the bowl.

All of the guests left with party bags filled with goodies like applesauce pouches, organic snack mix, bubbles and a Giggables from Bright Starts. And since I wanted to share the toy love, each family also had the opportunity to go home with one of the other toys as well!

The party might be over but we’re still enjoying our Bright Starts Having a Ball toys. If Wesley were to pick a very favorite, it would be the Roadster! Can you tell?

Thank you to all our friends and family for coming over to play. We had a great time with you!

And thanks to Bright Starts for sponsoring our playdate with all the fun toys!
