Deck the halls with this delicious Christmas Tree Cake Dip! This no bake dessert or appetizer is perfect for holiday parties and potlucks. This fluffy dessert dip is loaded with bite size Little Debbie tree cakes and is so fluffy and delicious! Makes a great addition to your Christmas dinner or holiday potluck. Easy to transport and only needs four ingredients plus your favorite dippers.
Have you seen this Little Debbie Christmas Tree Dip going around social media? It is a very simple concept. The recipes I’ve seen use either cream cheese or are extremely basic and have just COOL Whip and tree cakes. I do love a cream cheese dip and dips with Cool Whip but I decided to make my Christmas Tree Dip a little different without cream cheese and featuring a pudding mix. I absolutely loved the flavor that white chocolate pudding gave this Oreo Fluff.
Christmas Tree Dip Ingredients
To make this Little Debbie Christmas Tree Cakes dip you need just four key ingredients along with your favorite dippers.
- Little Debbie Christmas Tree Cakes: The star of this recipe! You’ll want two boxes.
- white chocolate pudding: Four serving size. Can substitute vanilla, french vanilla or cheesecake flavors.
- milk: 2% or whole milk preferred
- whipped topping: Original COOL WHIP works great but can also use other varieties including Extra Creamy or Lite.
- sprinkles (optional): Can use any variety of Christmas sprinkles such as confetti or non-pariels. Add to your dip just before serving because the colors will bleed into your dip as it sits.
- pretzels, vanilla wafers, animal crackers, animal slices or graham crackers for dipping: This Christmas dessert dip is very sweet so salty options like pretzels or less sweet options like animal crackers or nilla wafers work well.
How to Make Christmas Tree Cake Dip
To make this Christmas cake dip, start by whisking your milk and pudding together for 2 minutes.
Fold in the container of COOL WHIP whipped topping.
Add in your chopped Little Debbie Christmas Tree Cakes. You’ll want bite sized pieces that are small enough to still fit on whatever you plan to dip but big enough so it doesn’t completely fall apart into cake crumbles. Next time I would make some of my pieces just slightly smaller.
Gently fold in until well combined. Cover and chill for at least one hour.
Immediately before serving, top with Christmas sprinkles, if desired. I recommend jimmies, nonpareils or jimmies.
I loved the look of the sequin sprinkles over the top along with the vanilla sugar wafer as garnish. However, the sprinkles did bleed over time so keep that in mind. I also think the vanilla sugar wafers taste delicious with this dip but the combination is extra sweet. I ultimately preferred pretzels or nilla wafers.
My kids thought this Christmas dip was pretty amazing. It does stretch further than other dips because it is rich and decadent. Would be easy to transport for a holiday gathering and could be offered as a dessert or appetizer. If you didn’t want this dip for Christmas, you could substitute other Little Debbie Cakes such as Zebra Cakes and use different sprinkles to fit the occasion. I love easy holiday desserts like this, including Christmas brownies and peppermint puppy chow.
