Did you know that March 23rd is National Chip & Dip Day? It seems like there is a day for everything, but in this case I don’t mind. An excuse to have chips and dip? Sounds good to me. If you are looking for a quick and easy dip to serve that works great for veggies as well as chips, this dip is for you.
Over the weekend, I decided to surprise my husband and son Lucian with an afternoon snack. While they were busy playing Skylanders, I whipped up this easy dill dip and served it with some fresh vegetables and chips from The Better Chip Company. It went fast!
Easy Dill Dip Recipe
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup mayo
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1 1/2 teaspoons dried dill weed
- 1/2 teaspoon dried parsley
- 1/4 teaspoon seasoning salt
- 1 tablespoon finely chopped onion
Instructions
-
In a small bowl, mix all ingredients together.
-
Refrigerate.
-
Serve with your favorite fresh vegetables or chips.
Recipe Notes
To better blend the flavors, refrigerate for several hours before serving.
The Spinach and Kale variety was an obvious choice to pair with the dill dip. The flavors really complimented each other. I decided to add one of their new flavors, Chipotle as a special treat for my husband. He loves anything spicy so I figured they’d be a hit. I didn’t expect the dip to be a strong pairing with that flavor, but my husband said it really helped to kill a bit of the heat. Being able to have some veggies with dip after eating chips with a kick was also a great option.
While these are technically chips, they work great as a cracker. I thought that since my samples arrived in the mail without a lot of packaging that I might have a lot of broken chips. That was not the case. The Better Chip Company offers chips that are very sturdy and work great for dipping.
I love the texture and unique flavor varieties. I can’t wait to try out their Sweet Onion and Corn with fresh salsa, and I’m curious about their new beet flavor.
Besides having great flavor, The Better Chip offers a snack that is all natural and gluten free. Learn more about their products , including great flavor pairings with their products on their website.

Seeing this I am wondering, is this the same dill dip that they use to use with the pumpernickle bread? (may have spelled that wrong). I use to have that recipe and we loved it but I lost it somehow and this sounds pretty similar. Now I have to print this out since I know it is so much like the one I had. Thanks for sharing!
