When it is time to say goodbye to summer and say hello to fall, I welcome it with open arms. While I am not a fan of the cold winter, I love what the fall season has to offer. From apple harvests to pumpkin patches to school carnivals, it becomes a fun time to celebrate.

It is easy to celebrate Halloween when you have kids. They enjoy this simple holiday so much. Imagine being something else for an evening and getting candy for just knocking on a door and saying “trick or treat?” It is no wonder they love the magic.

For the last couple of years we’ve celebrated with a Halloween party. This year for treats we put together pudding parfaits that the kids could built themselves.

With some simple plastic pedestal cups, this simple dessert transformed into something more elaborate. Top them offf with some chocolate cake rolls such as Hostess Ho Hos to create fun monster eyed parfaits! Simply slice and add some chocolate candies.  You could easily get more elaborate with different candies to add a full face, hair and horns.

Thanksgiving will be upon us before we know it. When I think of this holiday one thing that always comes to mind is pumpkin pie. If you are looking for a easy, no bake dessert, this Pumpkin Twinkie Layered Dessert is a great option! I recently made this and it was a hit with my family. Would you believe the entire base is made up of Twinkies cut in half?

I halved the recipe for my family and included the changes below.
