It is a bit sweet but really good. Love the flavor and texture. Thanks!
My Mom used to make this all the time back in the 1960’s. First time I’ve ever seen anyone else post the recipe. My grandkids love it.
I, too, had my mom’s version of this. But we make a pkg and add 1 cup hot and 1 cup cold water (or ice cubes to set faster). Then we would add 1 cup vanilla ice cream and use a small mixer to whip up. This year I’m going to try and use a large rectangular glass dish and add different flavors on top of one another to make it look more like Easter. Maybe adding small chopped cherries to one of the jellos and small chopped oranges to a couple of the layers.
My mother-in-law used to make something like this but she also added a bag of frozen raspberries. Do you think if I added a bag of frozen berries to this it would work?
I haven’t tried it but it sounds a lot like this recipe: https://www.madetobeamomma.com/raspberry-jello-delight/
Hope that helps!
This was amazing! My grandmother suggested using ice cream to help Jello set up faster, but I wasn’t quite sure how to do it. This recipe was exactly what I needed! It set up so much faster than regular Jello and added fun flavor and texture. Even without extra toppings it was delicious. My family loved it!
I used to make this a long long time ago. I used strawberry Jello with Strawberry ice cream. This was before the internet. I had never heard of this recipe before, but every time I brought it to a gathering, everyone wanted to know how I made it. The strawberry ice cream had strawberries in it, so I did not have to add any. I needed the jello to set up quick, so this is what I came up with. I don’t know if I was the one to invent this or not.
