Every year I love to fill stockings with my family’s favorite things. Opening up stockings is one of the first things we do on Christmas morning. My kids are always so excited to find out what goodies are inside. Do you look forward to filling stockings or does it feel like a chore? If you find yourself stumped this holiday season here are just a few stocking stuffer gift ideas for kids to help you out.
When filling stockings it is important to tailor the stocking to the age of the child but also their interests.
Stocking Stuffer Gift Ideas
This is really anything small enough to fit in a stocking. It could be small Lego sets, dolls, stuffed animals, figurines, bath toys, nerf guns or matchbox cars.
Games and Puzzles:
I always like to includes something to do so that includes card games like Uno or dice games like Left or Right. Brain teasers like a Rubik’s cube also work great!
When filling a Christmas stocking, you don’t have to only include candy. Gum, Slim Jim Snack Sticks, fruit and favorite drinks are also great options.
This is a great way to stock up on some art or schools supplies. Ideas can include watercolor paints, markers, coloring books, mechanical pencils, sketch pad, origami paper, gel pens, etc.
Smaller board books work great for younger kids while chapters books or magazines are ideal for older kids.
Add some extra cheer with some holiday themed items like ornaments, reindeer ears, jewelry, socks or fun hats!
When putting together my holiday stocking, I headed out to my local Walmart to pick up some supplies.
Some items that landed in my cart included an elf hat, snowman plush, holiday pencils and sprinkles! Since my kids love to be in the kitchen with me, I decided some fun baking supplies would be a great new addition this year.
Of course I also grabbed a 26ct package of Slim Jim Snack Sticks. My kids love them! Since buying them for our Halloween bucket, they’ve become a regular on my grocery list. They work so great for snack time. These Slim Jim Mild Snack Sticks are the perfect size to tide them over without filling them up! My husband also likes to grab them on the go so it doesn’t take long to run out.
