Festive drinks for the holiday season are a must. And while my kids love hot drinks like cider and cocoa, sometimes a drink that can quench their thirst is more appreciated, especially during a holiday party where it can get overheated. So a sparkling cranberry mocktail featuring pineapple and cranberry juice is a winning recipe any time of year!

Cranberry Mocktail Ingredients

Just two main ingredients along with garnishes are needed for this drink.

  • sparkling cranberry flavored juice cocktail blend
  • pineapple juice: can substitute orange juice if needed
  • fresh cranberries: Float a handful of vibrant, fresh cranberries on top of the drink for a festive look or thread a few fresh cranberries onto a toothpick or cocktail skewer.
  • orange: A fresh orange can be used to make orange peels as shown or consider offering adding an orange slice to the glass

Other Mocktail Garnish Ideas:

  • fresh rosemary:  Add fresh rosemary sprigs to the top of the drink to complete the holiday look like I did for my cranberry cider.
  • pineapple wedge or slice: A small wedge of pineapple can be added to the top of the drink or a thin slice hung on the rim of the glass.
  • fresh mint leaves: A sprig of mint not only looks beautiful, ideal for a Christmas mocktail, but also adds a refreshing aroma to your mocktail.
  • lemon or lime twist: A twist of lemon or lime peel adds a zesty aroma and a pop of color. A slice of lemon or lime slices are also a great option.
  • candied ginger: A small piece of crystallized or candied ginger can provide a sweet and spicy kick that complements the fruity flavors.
  • pomegranate arils:  The beautiful seeds of a pomegranate add a burst of color and a delightful crunch. See how this garnish looks in my pomegranate cider.
  • sliced jalapeño: For those who enjoy a touch of heat, a thin slice of jalapeño can be a surprising and tantalizing garnish.
  • sparkling sugar rim: Dip the rim of the glass in water and then into colored or sparkling sugar for a festive, sweet touch.

Remember, garnishes not only enhance the visual appeal but can also complement the flavors of your mocktail. Mix and match to find the perfect combination that suits your taste!

If you happen to have cocktail glasses with lines on them like this, it is easy for kids to add ingredients.  We added some ice cubes and then I used the lines to tell Wesley how far to pour for individual servings. (A pretty glass pitcher or copper mugs would also be lovely!)
