If you are looking for the easiest party snack, I’ve got you covered with this recipe! With just a few pantry ingredients, you can have a salty snack perfect for entertaining or every day. This recipe for oyster crackers with ranch dressing is simple to make with just a few steps.

I love serving some salty snacks as a party appetizer for all occasions, including game day, birthday parties, dinner parties, Christmas, Thanksgiving, 4th of July, etc. The bonus for this ranch oyster crackers recipe is that while you can enjoy them warm from the oven if you like, you can also prepare them several days in advance. They will stay fresh as long as you place them in an airtight container.

Ranch Oyster Crackers Recipe Ingredients
To make these seasoned crackers with ranch dressing, you’ll need the following ingredients:
- soup and oyster crackers (one 9 oz. bag or approximately 4 1/2 cups)
- Hidden Valley Ranch Seasoning Mix (1 oz packet or approximately 2 tablespoons): This is the dry ranch dressing mix, not prepared ranch dressing.
- dried dill weed
- dried oregano
- garlic powder
- oil (canola oil or vegetable oil)

Dill weed is a very common ingredient to include with packet of ranch seasoning for a traditional seasoned crackers recipe. However, I love the addition of dried oregano and a little extra garlic powder. They are optional, but a nice touch and give the crackers a more robust flavor. You could also try a bit of onion powder or Parmesan cheese.
I recommend going with canola oil or vegetable oil because they are neutral oils and don’t have a strong flavor. I’ve heard of others trying butter but not liking the results as it can make the crackers softer or burn easier. You can try less oil if preferred and go down to 1/4 cup.
How to Make Ranch Oyster Crackers
Only a few steps are necessary to make oyster crackers with ranch dressing. Start by preheating your oven to 250°F or approximately 125°C. Place the olive oil, dill weed, oregano, garlic powder and ranch seasoning packet in a small bowl. Whisk to fully combine.

Add your oyster crackers in a medium mixing bowl and pour ranch dressing mixture over the top.

Gently stir to combine. I like to use a rubber spatula because it makes it easier to get any of the dressing that has stuck to the bottom of the bowl. Be careful to not break your crackers during this step.

Pour your crackers onto a large baking tray. I like to use the half sheet size because it is large enough for a single layer. If you only have smaller cookie sheets, I recommend using two. Give it a light shake to even them out.

Bake in a preheated oven for 10 minutes. Remove and stir crackers. Bake again for 5 to 10 minutes, until golden brown.

You can enjoy them warm from the oven or allow them to cool completely before placing in an airtight container or ziploc bag.

Place your ranch and dill oyster crackers in a bowl and voilà! Instant party appetizer for virtually any occasion, big or small. From your New Years Eve celebration to your family movie night, and everything in between, these seasoned crackers are a great fit!

Are all the seasonings required?
No! There are so many ways to make seasoned crackers. You are in full control of how much seasoning you like on your oyster crackers. You can use just ranch and dill if preferred. Another option is to cut down on the amount of ranch used or grab an extra bag of oyster crackers and add an extra cup or two if you like a more subtle flavor. You can even go spicy with some red pepper flakes like these Alabama Fire Crackers. So many possibilities!
